Review

Quikflicks online dvd rental is a great choice for west coast consumers. They offer 2 different membership options, the rapid return option limits the number of dvds to 4 or 6 dvds per month, with 2 dvds out at a time, or several standard unlimited monthly rental plans. The lowest priced budget plan at $10.95 per month is the lowest price anywhere. Quikflicks does offer nationwide service to those who don't mind waiting a little longer to get their dvds. Quikflicks also has a uniqe check in feature that reduces turn around time. You simply go to their website and tell them you've mailed the movies back and they will send out your next dvd selections. Rent dvd titles with Quikflicks.

Quikfliks

I would absolutely NOT recommend this pathetic excuse for a "service". As noted in other reviews, they take forever to credit returns and send a new title, have their system rigged to prevent you from seeing your most wanted titles, CSRs that aren't worth their weight in salt and a cancellation policy that costs you money to quit their junky so called service. They have a "rapid return" option which supposedly gets you another DVD sent before they receive the DVD in your possession back in the mail. Ha! As soon as you report a DVD "rapid returned", almost all of the titles in your queue suddenly become "unavailable". I took screenshots less than a minute apart showing almost all the titles in my queue as "available", then clicked the "rapid return" button and voila, mysteriously now almost all of my titles are "in demand". Also, if you have more than 10 DVDs in your queue, you will rarely, if ever, receive a title from your top ten. I had movies that were in my top 10 since I started with Qwikfliks that were never sent. And it's not like my top ten choices were hot new releases, either. For example, "A Beautiful Mind" was on my list since day one and was never sent. When did that come out, 2001 or so? My customer service rep was less than worthless, coming up with one lame excuse after another as to why they couldn't deliver. Also, be aware that their cancellation policy requires all DVDs to be returned AND in their possession before they close your account otherwise they continue to charge you. This means you need to send back your last DVD's with some kind of proof of receipt to ensure that don't try to rip you off for another month's worth of charges. Interestingly, when I returned my last DVD's via certified mail, it was the ONLY time they showed my DVD's being received in two days as compared to the 4-7 days they usually took. Also, if you are on a fixed number of DVDs per month plan like I was, this means you won't get all the DVD's you are entitled to when you cancel. Their location in California means nothing with regard to quick turnaround. They routinely took 3-5 working days from the system "DVD sent" date and I'm 90 miles from the distribution center. Really, save yourself aggravation and money and avoid Qwikfliks.
